Dr. Aiello frequently uses dental bridges for patients with missing teeth. Bridges are designed to look like real teeth – but they are actually two functional crowns with a false crown bonded between them. Each end of the bridge is anchored over a tooth, spanning across the open space of the missing tooth. Bridges can also be placed on top of dental implants.
Form and Aesthetics of Dental Bridges
We will carefully design your bridge to look natural and function in the best manner possible. The porcelain is matched to your surrounding teeth, allowing the final restoration to blend with your smile. That way you can talk or smile around other people without them ever knowing you have had dental treatment.
Why Should I Replace a Missing Tooth?
Let’s say that your missing tooth is a little bit further back in your mouth. Maybe it does not necessarily show when you are talking or smiling. What it does do, however – is give space for other teeth to start shifting. Even movement as few as 1 or 2 millimeters can have a tremendous impact on the function, health and appearance of your entire smile.
